The project FUTUREMED (www.futuremedproject.eu) aims to improve the competitiveness of port systems in MED area by improving accessibility of ports, through technological innovations and procedures, while ensuring the sustainability of the transport system.

The project aims at the creation of interoperable information systems and the reduction of externalities and intends to implement, through concerted territorial actions and pilot projects, sustainable development strategies for the medium and long term.

The Northern Sardinia Port Authority, is implementing a pilot project (WP5) on a system of port community systems (PCS), which contains both computer elements and communication elements technologies (ICT) that can improve the accessibility of port systems .
